How To: Make adorable alicebands!!!

Hi,

Firstly I hope everyone who reads this post had a great christmas! My parents got me a Knitting dolls book that is absolutely AWESOME because it gives you the general doll pattern and then a million things to do with it! I am going to make Amelie an "Amelie doll" for her sixth birthday :).
So on to todays how to... I love re-using old things so here is a cool way to turn old alicebands that you never wear into fashion accessories!

You will need:

An embroidery needle
A scrap of fabric
Some sewing/embroidery scissors
An old aliceband (make sure it is made of fabric as plastic ones do not work)
Some embroidery thread.

Instructions:

  1. Cut out a couple of circles (roughly the same size) out of your scrap of fabric.
  2. Fold them into triangles and sew the tips together.
  3. Sew around the tip to give it a nice shape.
  4. DO NOT BREAK THE THREAD! Use it to roughly sew the "flower" to the band.
  5. Poof the flower a little bit and you are finished!
Don't worry about loose threads as they are hidden by the flower. You can do anything you want not only flowers.. You could use buttons or do millions of flowers all around the band. The possibilities are endless so get creative!!!

Flower headbands: An adorable fashion statement! Amelie certainly loves hers!

(P.S. I went to see "The life of Pi" today. It was amazing. If you get the chance, deffinitely go and see it.)
